Book Review – Novelist’s Boot Camp: 101 Ways to Take Your Book from Boring to Bestseller by Todd A. Stone

Standard

This is the first writing book I ever read before, and I think it is a good one. It covers basically every point of writing a book except for publishing one (and it explains why it does that too). It was easy to read, and talked about a lot of techniques of writing that I had never heard of before.

Like the title suggests, a military theme is present throughout the pages. It has a little pictures of battle scenes, and stories of military practices that relate with what the lesson that Stone is trying to convey. And of course, he suggests a lot of push ups if you don’t agree with him.

Through twelve main missions and countless of drills for each of them, I have learned a lot about writing. Not all of them will fit with my style, but a lot of them have helped me.
